Happy New Year! I am so excited for the potential that 2019 brings! I can already feel the positive momentum.
This year we have started with a partial government shutdown, but we have also seen a small decrease in interest rates. This is the time for us all to get back to basics and work on our business to make a strong start in the first quarter.
I have been with Penrith Home Loans over seven years now and served on the Board of Directors with Puget Sound Mortgage Lenders Association for seven years as well. Over the years I have served as Secretary, Director, Vice President, and President Elect. I want to thank my predecessor, Gene Krawchuk for the great leadership and for being a great mentor and friend over the years. I am happy to announce our 2019 Board of Directors: Dave Thorsen/ President Elect, Venetia Killian/Treasurer, Julie Swenson/ Director, Shannon Patterson/Director, Terrie Bethel/Director, and Shannon Clemans/Secretary. I would like to send warm wishes to our departing board member, Jana Arnold.
This year will be fantastic with a great lineup of speakers and events. Our first quarter lineup includes: Rudi Alcott with Sound Publishing, Ken Perry with The Knowledge Coop, and Matthew Gardner with Windermere. We will also have the opportunity to raise money for our chosen charities, Charlie’s Dinosaur and Rebuilding Together South Sound through our Golf Tournament and Holiday Auction. We had awesome results with our Toys for Tots collection in the 2018 Holiday season and we will also continue to take donations for Toys for Tots in the 2019 holiday season.
Emerald Queen Casino Convention Center has been a great venue. The staff and food have been beyond our expectations. We will continue to hold our monthly membership meetings at EQC Convention Center. I am happy to announce that we will be holding our annual golf tournament at Fircrest Golf Club. This is a beautiful private course and we are excited to be there again on Thursday, June 27th with a 2:00 start time to our 9 hole tournament to raise money for Charlie’s Dinosaur.
To mimic what Gene Krawchuk said, “I am proud of the personality and the comradery that PSMLA has come to represent as an organization”. This year I am thankful to be President of this organization and lead this amazing group of professionals.
