Letter from the President 2018
Happy New Year:
This year of 2018 has gone by quickly. When I reflect back on it, it is one that has provided much excitement along with some unique challenges that our industry has faced. Personally it marked the experience of working at a new company after a 22 year career at my previous one. I was given the opportunity to be President of this fine organization again after previous terms in 2010-2011. I truly enjoyed my time in the position and am very proud of content and attendance at PSMLA meetings this year.
First and foremost, I wish to thank the 2018 Board of Directors. Traci Frazier, Venetia Killian, Jana Arnold, David Thorsen, Julie Swenson, Shannon Patterson and Gregg Anderson. You made leading manageable and a pleasure. I appreciate you all as absolute professionals and class individuals.
I’m proud of the content our speakers presented and solid attendance our membership has displayed this year. We welcomed some new members to the organization that have provided new energy and value. Much appreciation goes out to our long time members and affiliates.
Special thanks for our speakers this year: KEN PERRY, MATTHEW GARDNER, ERIN JONES, BRIAN STEVENS (Co-Host of the National Real Estate Post), who delivered an evening of candor, laughs and unique insight along with cutting edge marketing techniques. REALTOR PANEL (Toril, Ann Jones, Aaron Gerry and Joe Bauman), Michael Fanning, Ed Troyer and Chuck Arnold (President of the Seattle Seahawks and First & Goal). Chuck delivered his inspirational story of rising through the ranks of the Seahawk organization to a record attendance of over 100 guests. In June we hosted another successful Golf Tournament raising proceeds for Charlie’s Dinosaur.
We will wrap up our year of general meetings on 12/13 in traditional fashion with our Holiday Auction. Proceeds will go support Rebuilding Together South Sound. This year we are also doing a charity drive for Toys for Tots. In addition, this meeting will include the introduction of the 2019 Board of Directors.
What I’m most proud of is the personality and the comradery that PSMLA has come to represent as an organization. Personally I feel we are blessed to be professional’s in our industry. I believe we have great momentum as I hand over the President baton to my friend and colleague, Traci Frazier. Traci has embraced the President Elect position and is prepared to lead us to new heights in 2019.
In conclusion, I wish everyone a Happy Holiday season and may you all have a fantastic New Year.
All the Best,
